Protecting your private information is our priority. This Statement of Privacy applies to hybridgrading.com and Hybrid Grading Approach LLC, and governs how we collect and use information. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to Hybrid Grading Approach LLC include hybridgrading.com and HGA. By using this website, you consent to the practices described here.
What this site does today
This website is a holding page for HGA’s upcoming launch. It lets you sign up to receive email from us. What that means for your data:
- You can enter your email address to sign up for updates. This is described in the next section.
- We do not take payments here, and we do not collect or store payment card details.
- There are no customer accounts on this site, and you cannot upload files to it.
Information you give us
You can give us information by entering your email address in the signup form on the home page, or by emailing or calling us directly.
We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us.
If you enter your email address in the signup form on the home page, we hold that address, the date and time you signed up, and the fact that you signed up from this website. We use it to send you email from HGA about what we are launching, including details of a giveaway we plan to run. Signing up is not an entry into any giveaway. The list is held and sent through Klaviyo (see “Third parties we share data with”). A copy of your address is also kept by HGA directly, in our own customer system on this server, so that if you later write to us we can see that you had signed up. That copy is not shared with anyone, and asking us to delete it removes it from both places. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, and we keep a record of your unsubscribe so that we do not email you again.
If you email or call us, we keep what you send us, and your contact details, so that we can reply and keep a record of what was agreed.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used. When you browse the site, these tools may record:
- The pages you view and when you view them, and the page you arrived on and left from
- The website or search engine that referred you, if any, and any campaign tags in the link you followed
- How long your visit lasted and how many pages you saw
- Your browser and its version, your operating system, and whether you are on a desktop, tablet or phone
- Your browser window and screen size, your browser language, and your approximate location, worked out from your network address
- Interactions such as clicks and taps, how far down a page you scrolled, and how you move around a page
Microsoft Clarity can also produce session recordings and heatmaps, which replay or summarise how visitors move, click and scroll on a page.
Our hosting provider may also keep technical logs of requests made to the site, recording the address requested, your network address and the response. These are used to keep the site working and to spot abuse.
Cookies and browser storage
The site uses a small number of cookies. They are set by the services described in the next section, not by us directly:
- Google Analytics sets cookies used to recognise a returning browser and to group visits into sessions.
- Microsoft Clarity sets cookies used to recognise a returning browser and to link the pages you view in a visit together.
- Klaviyo, our email platform, sets a cookie on the public pages that identifies your browser to Klaviyo so that, if you have signed up, it can recognise you and avoid showing you the signup form again; it is not used for advertising.
- Google Tag Manager loads these tools on our behalf.
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline them if you prefer. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Declining these cookies costs you nothing; the only difference you may notice is that the signup form can appear again on a later visit.
Third parties we share data with
HGA does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. We do use the following services, which receive data as part of operating the site:
- Klaviyo (Klaviyo, Inc.) — our email platform. It stores the home page signup list on our behalf, sends the emails we write, and records deliveries, opens, clicks and unsubscribes. It does not use your address for its own purposes.
- Google Tag Manager (Google LLC) — loads the measurement tools on this site. It does not collect visitor data for its own purposes.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — measures how the site is used. It sets cookies that identify your browser and sends Google the pages you visit, your approximate location and your device type. Google handles this data as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — shows us how visitors use the site, including session recordings and heatmaps. Microsoft handles this data as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers, who store the site and its data on our behalf.
We see the information from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity as grouped statistics and recordings of site use, not as a record of any one named person.
HGA may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on us; (b) protect and defend our rights or property; or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the site or the public.
How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Send you the email you signed up for, and reply if you contact us
- Operate and maintain the website, and diagnose problems with it
- Understand which pages and sources of traffic are useful, so we can improve the site
- Protect the site against abuse and unauthorised access
How long we keep information
- Your email address and signup details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We keep a record of your unsubscribe so that we do not email you again.
- Analytics data and session recordings are kept for the periods set in Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, and are then deleted automatically.
- Technical server logs are kept by our hosting provider for as long as it keeps them for its own operations.
- Emails and calls you send us, and the contact details attached to them, are kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to keep a reasonable business record afterwards. You can ask us to delete them sooner — see below.
Security of your information
We secure your information from unauthorised access, use and disclosure. Information is transmitted between your browser and this site over an encrypted connection, and is stored on servers in a controlled environment.
We strive to take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorised access to or alteration of your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and how to exercise them
You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, or to delete it. Write to us using the contact details at the end of this policy, from the email address you contacted us on where possible, so that we can be confident the request is genuinely yours.
Subject to the exceptions set out below, on receipt of a verifiable request from you we will:
- Delete your personal information from our records; and
- Direct any service providers acting on our behalf to delete your personal information from their records.
Please note that we may not be able to comply with a request to delete your personal information if it is necessary to:
- Complete the transaction for which the personal information was collected, fulfil the terms of a written warranty or product recall conducted in accordance with federal law, provide a good or service requested by you, or reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform a contract between you and us;
- Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent or illegal activity, or prosecute those responsible for that activity;
- Debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality;
- Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise their right of free speech, or exercise another right provided for by law;
- Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical or statistical research in the public interest that adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, when our deletion of the information is likely to render impossible or seriously impair the achievement of such research, provided we have obtained your informed consent;
- Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with your expectations based on your relationship with us;
- Comply with an existing legal obligation; or
- Otherwise use your personal information internally, in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which you provided it.
One practical limit is worth stating plainly. Analytics data is not linked to your name or email address. If you ask us to delete it, we can only help where you can tell us enough to identify it, and some of it is held by Google and Microsoft under their own terms. Where we cannot identify it, it is deleted on the retention schedule above.
Children under thirteen
HGA does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under the age of thirteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website.
Email communications
From time to time, HGA may contact you by email to reply to an inquiry you sent us, or to provide announcements, alerts and confirmations relating to it. If you signed up on the home page, we will also send you email about what HGA is launching. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe (see “Information you give us”).
External data storage sites
We may store your data on servers provided by third party hosting vendors with whom we have contracted.
Changes to this statement
HGA reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by placing a prominent notice on our site and by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the site after such modifications will constitute your acknowledgement of the modified Privacy Policy and your agreement to abide by it.
